ASEANAPOL Secretariat participated in the EU-ASEAN MIGRATION AND BORDER MANAGEMENT PROGRAMME ll funded by the European Union and organized by INTERPOL and ASEAN Secretariat, 20-22 October 2015, Hotel Gran Mahakam, Jakarta, Indonesia. The Director for Police Services, ACP Mohamad Anil Shah made a presentation on "Criminal Threats to Cross-Border Cooperation" and also acted as Co-Chairman for Workshop 1: Technical and Operational Roll-Out Coordination Workshop. Two other workshops were also conducted simultaneously. Amongst the main objectives are to introduce ongoing l-24/7 expansion projects in ASEAN member countries and share best practices on the use of INTERPOL's tools and services, stakeholders coordination for training and operational activities and research study. The main objectives are to support ASEAN in its integration process through the implementation of the Master Plan on ASEAN Connectivity, in particular people connectivity. Also to strengthen law enforcement agencies networks and cooperation at main regional transit hubs with the help of a study on easing visa requirements for ASEAN and Non-ASEAN Nationals within ASEAN.
