ASEANAPOL Secretariat received a visit from Head of The Europol Office, Benoit GODART, on 18 April 2018. He was welcomed by the Executive Director of ASEANAPOL Secretariat, Police Colonel Kenechanh Phommachack, Director for Police Services Superintendent Jim Wee, Director of Plan & Programmes Assistant Commissioner of Police, Aidah Othman and Staffs.
The Executive Director of ASEANAPOL Secretariat in his welcoming note stress how important is the collaboration and cooperation which benefit the both party. He further deliberated that application by EUROPOL to be elevated to Dialogue Partner been circulated to all the member Countries to seek for the consensus by all Chiefs of ASEANAPOL and belief on the upcoming 9th ACPM in Kuala Lumpur it can be concluded.
Mr. Benoit GODART express his utmost gratitude to the ASEANAPOL Secretariat’s Directors on receiving his visit and grateful to the cooperation that rendered thus far especially on coordinating with ASEANAPOL Member Countries towards the success of meetings that co-organised by EUROPOL. He also shared some successful cases through cooperation with ASEANAPOL Member Countries such as Credit Card Fraud and the other in the crime field. Hoping that EUROPOL will be accepted and elevated to Dialogue Partner on the upcoming Conference in Brunei.
Mr. Benoit GODART further informed that there will be a new Executive Director of EUROPOL from Belgium in beginning of May 2018. He felt much obliged to the ASEANAPOL Secretariat for the total response and as a bridge on generating opportunity for the betterment of EUROPOL and ASEANAPOL itself. Hoping In future there will be more collaboration and open to more crime field besides the current core area under purview of ASEANAPOL.
