The Royal Brunei Police Force (RBPF) hosted the 9th ASEANAPOL Training Cooperation Meeting (ATCM) from 22-23 January 2019 with the theme “DYNAMIC CAPACITY BUILDING”. The meeting was attended by delegations from ASEANAPOL Member Countries as well as Dialogue Partners and Observers. Commissioner Dato Paduka Seri Haji Mohd Jammy bin Haji Muhd Shah Al-Islam officiated the meeting and highlighted ASEANAPOL as the main law enforcement agency in the region and continues to step up efforts to strengthen its capacities in fighting and solving crime by way of effective policing strategies and operations. The Commissioner further reiterated that the involvement and contributions particularly from ASEANAPOL’s Dialogue Partners and Observers have always been a major boost to the development of police forces in the region. The meeting was chaired by the Senior Superintendent of Police, Masni binti Haji Jamil, Commandant of Police Training Centre, Royal Brunei Police Force. Representative from ASEANAPOL Member countries provided updates on the implementation of courses and capacity building programmes in relation to the ASEANAPOL Priority of Training Needs. The meeting concluded with fruitful discussions and active participation from all the delegates.
