ASEANAPOL - MINISTER OF INTERNAL AFFAIRS OF THE RUSSIAN FEDERATION ON ADVANCED TRAINING COURSE FOR ANTI-DRUG UNITS OF ASEANAPOL MEMBER COUNTRIES

On 20-24 September 2021, ASEANAPOL cooperated with Minister of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation conducted the Advanced Training Course for Anti-Drug Unit of ASEANAPOL Member Countries. The training was held by the Siberian Law Institute which attended by 34 participants from ASEANAPOL Secretariat, Royal Brunei Police Force (RBPF), Cambodian National Police (CNP), Indonesian National Police (INP), Lao Police Forces (LPF), Myanmar Police Force (MPF), Royal Malaysian Police (RMP), Philippines National Police (PNP), Royal Thai Police (RTP) and from Office of Investigation Police Agency (OIPA) Vietnam with online platform by using a system of distance educational technologies.
The participants of the training course were welcomed by the Chief of the Siberian Law Institute of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation, Major General of the Police Dmitry Kim, who noted the relevance of conducting the anti-drug course in such a multilateral format. “Already today, our states adhere to common approaches in the fight against drugs, so an effective fight against drug aggression is possible within the framework of further development of partnership relations among our countries and the development of really working mechanisms of interdepartmental cooperation. I am sure that the rich educational potential of the teachers of our institute in the field of countering drugs will be useful to all participants of the course”.
In his speech, the Director for Police Services of ASEANAPOL Secretariat, Police Snr. Supt Joni Getamala, conveying the great gratitude to Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation as Dialogue Partner of ASEANAPOL who have considerately conducting the training in developing of the capacity building of ASEANAPOL Member Countries officers.
This training not only as improved the knowledge for all participants, it would also become the new platform for networking between ASEANAPOL Anti-Drug Unit since the participants and instructors come from various country. It is high hope that all the participants could keep in touch one another to coordinate future operations and sharing information as the commitments of ASEANAPOL anti-drug units officers in keeping this region safe.
