On 15th March 2023, ASEANAPOL Secretariat (AS) initiated and conducted the 1st ASEANAPOL Contact Persons Quarterly Discussion (ACPQD), without the presence of Dialogue Partners (DPs) and Observers (OBs). The aim was to discuss any pending issues which require the Chief of Police’s endorsement and other administrative matters in preparation before the annual ASEANAPOL Conference (AC).
The discussion was convened by Pol. Brig. Gen. Zaw Lin Tun, the Executive Director (ED) of AS, Chairman of the meeting. It was attended by designated Contact Persons from the respective ASEANAPOL Member Countries (AMCs) namely the Royal Brunei Police Force (RBPF), Cambodian National Police (CNP), Indonesian National Police (INP), Lao Police Force (LPF), Royal Malaysia Police (RMP), Myanmar Police Force (MPF), Philippines National Police (PNP), Singapore Police Force (SPF), Royal Thai Police (RTP) and The Office of Investigation Police Agency (OIPA), Minister of Public Security of Vietnam.
The meeting successfully discussed the outstanding matters for the ASEANAPOL Secretariat namely the proposal for the Renaming of Head Administrative and Technical Staff (HATS) to Director of Administrative and Technical Support (DATS). The other issue that had been discussed during this meeting is the Proposal on Concept Notes of Informal Meeting for Police Liaisons Based in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. During the discussion, AS also touched on any other related matters or issues which are pertinent to the future development of ASEANAPOL.
The Meeting concluded with the Chairman extending his appreciation to all delegates for their active participation and constructive contribution based on the spirit of ASEANAPOL tradition which had led to the success of this discussion.
