On April 15, 2024, officials from Rashtriya Raksha University (RRU), Mr. Ravish Shah and Mr. Atish P. Barot, visited the ASEANAPOL Secretariat. They were welcomed by Executive Director David Martinez Vinluan and other senior officers. This visit followed a December 2023 agreement where ASEANAPOL and RRU signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to collaborate on educational and training
programs aimed at enhancing the skills of ASEAN police officers in handling transnational organized crime.
During their presentation, RRU representatives shared details about their institution, which focuses on security and police training and is based in Gandhinagar, Gujarat. They outlined their commitment to becoming a leading security education center in India, emphasizing high-quality education, research, and training in strategic security areas.
RRU proposed becoming an Observer at ASEANAPOL conferences, offering their expertise as an International Advisor to help modernize and internationalize police training and operations across member countries. They also suggested hosting future ASEANAPOL meetings at their campus in Gujarat. The meeting concluded with productive discussions on these initiatives.
