ASEANAPOL Secretariat Briefs Inspector-General of Police at Bukit Aman on 42nd ASEANAPOL Conference Preparations

On October 14, 2024, an official briefing was held at Bukit Aman, the headquarters of the Royal Malaysia Police (RMP), for Inspector-General of Police Tan Sri Razarudin bin Hussin. The ASEANAPOL Secretariat led the briefing, with four senior representatives in attendance. The delegation was headed by Police Colonel David Martinez Vinluan, Executive Director of the ASEANAPOL Secretariat, and included ACP Dr. Bakri bin Zainal Abidin, Director of Police Services; Police Senior Lieutenant Colonel Nguyen Huu Ngoc, Director of Plans and Programmes; and Superintendent Azrul Hisham bin Mohd Shaffei, Head of Administrative and Technical Staff.
During the session, the Secretariat provided a detailed update on preparations for the upcoming ASEANAPOL conference. The presentation emphasized that all logistical arrangements and operational plans were fully in place, focusing on ensuring seamless coordination for the event, which will bring together law enforcement leaders from ASEAN member countries.
Several senior officers from the Royal Malaysia Police, who will play key roles in the conference, were also present. These included Commissioner of Police Dato’ Sri Ramli bin Mohamed Yoosuf, Director of the Commercial Crime Investigation Department (CCID), who will serve as the Head of Delegation (HOD) for the Royal Malaysia Police; Commissioner of Police Dato’ Mohd Roze bin Shaari, Deputy Director of the Management Department (Human Resources and Policy); and Deputy Commissioner of Police Mohd Zani bin Che Din, who will be the Deputy Head of Delegation (DHOD). SAC Dato' Pahlawan Suparamaniam Ramasamy, Chief of International Relations for the Inspector-General of Police’s Secretariat, also attended, along with other key officers who will be involved in the commission's duties during the event.
The briefing was thorough and well-received by all attendees, with constructive discussions taking place. It was evident that both the ASEANAPOL Secretariat and the Royal Malaysia Police are working closely to ensure the success of the conference. The session concluded on a positive note, with all parties expressing confidence in the plans and preparations.
Overall, the briefing showcased the ASEANAPOL Secretariat’s readiness and the strong cooperation with the Royal Malaysia Police, the host country, in preparing for this significant regional event. It reaffirmed the commitment to fostering collaboration and coordination among ASEAN law enforcement agencies.
