On February 22, 2025, the halls of the Kampung Kitchen Restaurant at IBIS Hotel, Kuala Lumpur, were filled with laughter, warm embraces, and a sense of deep camaraderie as former and present ASEANAPOL Secretariat officers and staff came together for a long-awaited reunion. The 1st ASEANAPOL Secretariat Lunch Fellowship was more than just a gathering—it
was the start of a new tradition, a celebration of the enduring bond among those who have dedicated their lives to the mission of ASEANAPOL.
The attendees during the activity were: SAC Dato’ Mohd Nadzri Zainal Abidin Ret. RMP (1st Executive Director 2010-2011); Police Colonel David Martinez Vinluan PNP (current 8th Executive Director 2024-2025); DACP Lim Kim Tak Ret. SPF (DPS 2010-2012); IGP Desy Adriani Ret. INP (DPP 2010-2012); SAC Dato’ Mohamad Anil Shah (DPS 2013-2015); CP Datuk Allaudeen Abdul Majid Ret RMP (former HATS); ACP Aidah Othman Ret. RMP (DPP 2017-2019); CP Dato’ Rusli Ahmad (Ret.); ACP Chew Hong Huat (Ret.); ACP Goh Lee Fook (Ret.); ACP Gan Tack Guan (Ret.); Supt Saravanan Munusamy; Rodiah Abu Bakar (Ret.); Suriani Ahmad; Fahizatonizam Mat Desa; Putri Norhafizah Megat Yunos; Muhammad Anas Zainudin; Sabkiriman Zabidin; Noorazlinda Ali; and Osliza Osman.
As attendees reconnected, reminisced about shared experiences, and exchanged stories of their time in service, one thing became clear—being part of ASEANAPOL is not just a role, but a lifelong commitment. Retirement from police service does not mark the end of one's duty to the region; rather, it is a continuation of a shared mission to ensure peace and security for generations to come. This fellowship was a testament to that unwavering dedication, reminding everyone that their contributions remain vital in the ever-evolving fight against transnational crime.
The success of this inaugural gathering sparked a powerful realization—this should not be a one-time event, but a tradition akin to an alumni homecoming. It was a moment to honor the past, celebrate the present, and inspire the future. With every handshake, every shared meal, and every story told, the foundation for an annual reunion was laid—one that will continue to strengthen the ties that bind ASEANAPOL’s veterans and current staff together.
As the event came to a close, there was a collective agreement: this is only the beginning. Plans are already in motion to make this fellowship an annual tradition, ensuring that the ASEANAPOL family remains connected, engaged, and united in its mission. The spirit of ASEANAPOL lives on, not just in the work that has been done, but in the people who continue to carry its legacy forward.
Here’s to the first of many reunions, to lifelong friendships, and to a future where the ASEANAPOL Secretariat remains a strong and united family.
