The ASEANAPOL Secretariat (AS), led by Police Colonel David Martinez Vinluan, Executive Director, held a productive meeting with Mr. Dmitrii Sandzhiev of Match System Blockchain Intelligence in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. Accompanying the Executive Director were Police Senior Lieutenant Colonel Nguyen Huu Ngoc,
Director for Plans and Programmes, Police Senior Superintendent Huntal Tambunan, Director for Police Services, and other officers.
This engagement provided a platform to explore opportunities for collaboration in financial crime investigations, particularly in the areas of cryptocurrency tracking, asset recovery, and anti-money laundering (AML) compliance. Match System Blockchain Intelligence shared insights on leveraging blockchain technology to assist law enforcement agencies in combating financial crimes across ASEAN Member Countries (AMCs).
During the discussions, the parties explored potential Public-Private Partnership (PPP) initiatives that align with ASEANAPOL’s core crime focus areas. Several key areas of cooperation were identified, including: Cybercrime and Financial Crime and Money Laundering and Terrorism Financing.
Both parties recognized the significance of capacity-building initiatives to equip ASEAN law enforcement agencies with the necessary skills and tools to combat emerging financial crimes. They agreed to explore the implementation of specialized workshops, intelligence-sharing mechanisms, and joint research projects to enhance the investigative capabilities of ASEANAPOL and its Member Countries.
The ASEANAPOL Secretariat acknowledged the expertise and commitment of Match System Blockchain Intelligence in advancing law enforcement capabilities through technology-driven solutions. The meeting concluded on a positive note, with both parties looking forward to continued engagement and collaboration to combat financial crime and strengthen regional security efforts.
