They were warmly received by the Director for Police Services, Senior Superintendent Huntal Tambunan, under the supervision of Executive Director David Martinez Vinluan, alongside officials from the Secretariat.
The meeting served as a platform to introduce EC-Council Global Services, a division of the International Council of E-Commerce Consultants and the world’s largest cybersecurity technical certification body. Operating in 140 countries, EC-Council is the owner and developer of globally recognized certification programs, including the Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH), Computer Hacking Forensics Investigator (CHFI), Certified Security Analyst (ECSA), and Licensed Penetration Testing (Practical). To date, EC-Council has trained and certified over 380,000 information security professionals worldwide, significantly shaping the cybersecurity landscape across industries and organizations.
The EC-Council Global Services division is home to some of the world’s leading information security professionals. With a strong commitment to cybersecurity excellence, the division specializes in developing security methodologies, policies, and consulting services to help organizations assess, understand, and manage their cybersecurity risk posture effectively.
The discussion provided an excellent opportunity to explore cybersecurity initiatives within the ASEAN region. The Director for Police Services commended EC-Council Global Services for their insightful briefing and acknowledged their expertise in cybersecurity. He expressed keen interest in potential collaborations, particularly in providing capacity-building training programs for the police personnel of ASEANAPOL Member Countries.
Recognizing the increasingly complex nature of transnational crime, the ASEANAPOL Secretariat emphasizes the critical role of Public-Private Partnerships (PPP) in fostering a whole-of-stakeholders approach to combat emerging security threats. Strengthening collaboration between law enforcement agencies and private-sector experts is essential in developing innovative solutions, sharing intelligence, and enhancing the region’s cyber resilience. The Secretariat remains committed to engaging with reputable organizations such as EC-Council Global Services to fortify collective efforts in addressing cybercrime and other transnational security challenges.
The meeting concluded on a positive and promising note, with both parties expressing enthusiasm for future collaborations aimed at strengthening cybersecurity capabilities within ASEAN. The ASEANAPOL Secretariat looks forward to fostering this partnership to further enhance regional cybersecurity resilience and promote a unified, multi-stakeholder response to transnational crime.
