Strengthening Public-Private Collaboration: ASEANAPOL Secretariat Meets with Moody’s

On April 4, 2025, the ASEANAPOL Secretariat and Moody’s held a productive virtual meeting to explore new avenues for strategic collaboration. The session was graced by ASEANAPOL Executive Director David Martinez Vinluan, Director for Police Services Senior Superintendent Huntal Tambunan, and officials from the Secretariat. Moody’s was represented by Mr. Kelvin Lim, Mr. Dominic Wong, and Mr. James Thoh.

The dialogue centered on strengthening cooperation to combat transnational crime through promising public-private partnerships. Both parties explored potential areas of engagement, including formalizing collaboration through Letters of Intent (LOI) and Memoranda of Understanding (MOU). Moody’s also shared valuable insights into establishing structured partnerships, recognizing the importance of securing support from ASEANAPOL Member Countries (AMCs) to move forward effectively.

Plans were also made for meaningful joint initiatives, including an upcoming workshop with the Royal Thai Police (RTP) and active participation in the ASEANAPOL Conference. These activities are envisioned to amplify efforts in building regional capacity and enhancing public awareness.

Executive Director Vinluan reaffirmed ASEANAPOL’s dedication to the ongoing fight against transnational crime and expressed appreciation for Moody’s commitment to supporting law enforcement through innovative collaboration. He also highlighted current awareness campaigns and engagement strategies aimed at strengthening ASEANAPOL’s regional presence.

The meeting concluded on a positive note, with both parties expressing optimism for a shared path ahead. As a next step, Executive Director Vinluan extended a warm invitation to Moody’s to join the upcoming 15th ASEANAPOL Contact Persons Meeting (ACPM), marking another step toward a dynamic and impactful partnership.
