ASEANAPOL Secretariat, 14 May 2025, The ASEANAPOL Secretariat successfully conducted the first coordination meeting with the Royal Malaysia Police (RMP) on 14 May 2025 at 10:00 AM to discuss and organize preparatory matters for the upcoming 15th ASEANAPOL Contact Person Meeting (ACPM), scheduled for 26 to 30 May 2025 at Agrotek Garden Resort, Hulu Langat, Selangor. The meeting concluded with firm commitments from the RMP to provide full logistical, operational, and technical support, ensuring the smooth and effective implementation of the event.
The 15th ACPM is expected to bring together approximately 60 senior police officers from the 10 ASEANAPOL Member Countries, along with 12 Dialogue Partners and 11 Observer Partners. As the host organization, the ASEANAPOL Secretariat relies on the close partnership and dedicated support of the RMP, which consistently provides essential personnel and resources to the Secretariat’s daily operations.
During the coordination meeting, Senior Superintendent Huntal Tambunan, Director for Police Services, acting under the direction of the ASEANAPOL Secretariat Executive Director, Police Colonel David Martinez Vinluan, presented a comprehensive briefing on the scope, schedule, and operational requirements of the 15th ACPM. He emphasized the Secretariat’s reliance on cross-functional support from the RMP to deliver a well-organized and secure regional meeting.
In response, the following contributions and commitments were made by attending RMP officers:
Superintendent Mohd Yatim Bin Hj. Osman (Traffic, Bukit Aman) committed to deploying escort units as requested. He underscored the importance of receiving confirmed arrival and departure schedules several days in advance to properly allocate personnel, particularly as his unit will also be supporting the Langkawi Expo during the same period.
