ASEANAPOL Secretariat Hosts Regional Security Cooperation Meeting with the Korea National Police Agency

Kuala Lumpur, 19 June 2026 – The ASEANAPOL Secretariat hosted a Regional Security Cooperation Meeting with the Korea National Police Agency (KNPA) at the ASEANAPOL Secretariat Headquarters in Kuala Lumpur.
The meeting, chaired by Police Senior Colonel Dr. Kongkrissada Kittithiraphong, Executive Director of ASEANAPOL Secretariat, served as a platform to strengthen cooperation between ASEANAPOL and KNPA in addressing transnational crime and enhancing regional security.
Discussions focused on the proposed i-KARE Project, the deployment of Korean Police Liaison Officers to the ASEANAPOL Secretariat, technical cooperation, intelligence sharing, and future collaboration initiatives. Both parties also exchanged views on cooperation frameworks, including Memoranda of Understanding (MOUs), and discussed preparations for the upcoming International Conference on Drugs (ICON) 2026.
The meeting concluded with a reaffirmation of the strong partnership between ASEANAPOL and KNPA and a shared commitment to advancing regional law enforcement cooperation, capacity building, and information sharing for the safety and security of the region.
