ASEANAPOL Secretariat Engages IACP to Strengthen International Police Cooperation

Kuala Lumpur, 26 June 2026 – The ASEANAPOL Secretariat held a productive engagement with the International Association of Chiefs of Police (IACP) to enhance ongoing collaboration in leadership development, training, and international officer exchange programmes.

The discussion highlighted opportunities to expand participation in the Officer Exchange Programme with the UAE, while encouraging broader engagement from ASEANAPOL Member Countries. Both sides also explored avenues to strengthen access to leadership training initiatives and customised capacity-building programmes across the region.

Key areas of focus included improving participation, supporting professional development, and enhancing knowledge sharing among law enforcement officers to build stronger and more connected policing networks globally.

The meeting concluded with a shared commitment to continue advancing cooperation and fostering future collaboration in upcoming engagements, including the 44th ASEANAPOL Conference in Manila, Philippines.
