ASEANAPOL at 45: Honouring Our Founders Through Action

23 October 1981 – 2026

On 23 October 2026, ASEANAPOL marked 45 years since its founding in Manila, Philippines, by five nations — Indonesia, Malaysia, the Philippines, Singapore, and Thailand.

From five founding nations to eleven Member Countries today, ASEANAPOL continues to stand united in its commitment to regional police cooperation and the fight against transnational crime.

To commemorate this milestone, the ASEANAPOL Secretariat continued its mission through action. On the anniversary itself, police representatives from Brunei Darussalam, Malaysia, Singapore, and Thailand visited the Korean National Police Agency’s National Counter Scam Bureau, exchanging operational experiences and strengthening cooperation against scam crime.

We pay tribute to our founding leaders and extend our sincere appreciation to all Member Countries, Chiefs of Police, and generations of officers who have carried their vision forward.

The greatest tribute to our founders is not merely to celebrate their legacy, but to continue their work.
