ASEANAPOL Secretariat Highlights Regional Cooperation Against Transnational Crime at International Cybercrime Enforcement Course 2026

Cyberjaya, Malaysia, 22 June 2026 – Police Colonel Dr. Kongkrissada Kittithiraphong, Executive Director of the ASEANAPOL Secretariat, was invited as a keynote speaker at the 3rd International Cybercrime Enforcement Course (ICEC) 2026, held at Cyberjaya Resort, Malaysia.
During the session conducted from 1100 to 1200 hrs, the Executive Director delivered a presentation on the Role of ASEANAPOL in Combating Transnational Crime, highlighting the importance of regional law enforcement cooperation in addressing evolving threats such as cybercrime, online scams, financial fraud, human trafficking, and other forms of organized transnational crime.
The presentation emphasized ASEANAPOL’s role as a trusted platform for police-to-police cooperation among ASEAN Member Countries through information sharing, operational coordination, capacity building, and strategic partnerships with international organizations and Dialogue Partners.
Participants were also briefed on ASEANAPOL’s ongoing efforts to strengthen regional responses against cyber-enabled crimes, including the development of the ASEANAPOL Scam Combat Task Force (ASCOT), the enhancement of intelligence-sharing mechanisms, and the promotion of practical cooperation frameworks that support joint investigations and operational outcomes across borders.
The invitation to address ICEC 2026 reflects the growing recognition of ASEANAPOL’s contribution to regional security and its continued commitment to fostering collective action against transnational crime. Through stronger partnerships, shared expertise, and coordinated enforcement efforts, ASEANAPOL remains dedicated to supporting Member Countries in keeping the region safe and secure.
