ASEANAPOL Secretariat Strengthens Cooperation with AFP, Europol, and the Netherlands Police through Project InterCOP

Kuala Lumpur, 25 June 2026 – The ASEANAPOL Secretariat held a virtual strategic discussion with representatives of the Australian Federal Police (AFP), Europol, and the Netherlands Police to explore future cooperation under Project InterCOP (International Cyber Offender Prevention Network).
Project InterCOP is an initiative led by the Netherlands Police in partnership with Europol, bringing together law enforcement agencies from 39 countries. The project seeks to strengthen international efforts to prevent young people from being drawn into cybercrime while enhancing collaboration in cybercrime prevention through information sharing, awareness, and best practices.
During the discussion, both sides exchanged updates on the development of the initiative and explored opportunities to expand cooperation with the ASEANAPOL Secretariat. The meeting also discussed potential areas of collaboration to support cybercrime prevention initiatives and strengthen regional partnerships for the benefit of ASEANAPOL Member Countries.
The discussion concluded on a positive note, with both sides expressing their commitment to further developing practical cooperation and maintaining close coordination in support of international efforts to combat cyber-enabled crime.
