ASEANAPOL Calls for United Action Against Intellectual Property Crime at INTERPOL Conference
28 October 2026
Bangkok, Thailand | 28 October 2026 – Dr. Kongkrissada Kittithiraphong, Executive Director of the ASEANAPOL Secretariat, delivered a keynote address at the 19th International Law Enforcement IP Crime Conference, held at Shangri-La Bangkok, Thailand, from 27–29 October 2026.
Under the conference theme “Bridging Borders: From Regional Action to Global Impact,” the Executive Director highlighted ASEANAPOL's 6P Framework — Policy, People, Platform, Procedure, Partnership and Progress — as a practical approach to strengthening regional law enforcement cooperation.
He also presented the Electronic ASEANAPOL Database System (e-ADS) and ASEANAPOL's regional taskforce approach, including cooperation against financial crime through FINCOT, with intellectual property crime recognised as an important area of concern.
Emphasising that counterfeit products threaten not only innovation and legitimate businesses but also public safety, he called for stronger intelligence sharing, coordinated investigations and practical cross-border action.
“We are in the same boat, moving in the same direction. We must work together to fight intellectual property crime and protect our people.”
ASEANAPOL reaffirmed its commitment to turning regional cooperation into concrete action alongside international law enforcement partners.
Together, we keep this region safe.
