The ASEANAPOL Secretariat, led by Executive Director Police Senior Colonel Dr. Kongkrissada Kittithiraphong, held a consultation meeting with representatives of the Japan-related project team (JMT) on 2 November 2026 to review the financial report and implementation progress of the Study Visit project covering Thailand, Malaysia and Singapore.
The meeting reviewed the key outcomes of the Study Visit and discussed plans to further consolidate the knowledge and findings gathered through the programme. Particular emphasis was placed on developing a comprehensive analytical report documenting the participating countries’ legal frameworks, institutional arrangements and operational practices, including law enforcement mechanisms to address transnational criminal activities.
The discussion also explored the proposed realignment of the remaining project budget to support additional research, expert consultations and knowledge compilation activities, subject to the necessary approvals. These efforts aim to strengthen the practical value of the Study Visit outcomes and provide a useful reference for ASEAN Member Countries and relevant stakeholders.
The meeting reaffirmed the importance of sustained collaboration and knowledge sharing in enhancing regional law enforcement capabilities and strengthening collective efforts to address emerging transnational crime challenges.
ASEANAPOL remains committed to fostering regional cooperation, promoting the exchange of expertise and advancing practical initiatives that contribute to a safer and more secure ASEAN community.
